Youth Faith Formation K5-6th grade including First Communion and Confirmation

Faith Formation

is a life long pursuit. You began at baptism and end when you leave this world to be with Christ in heaven. The staff and parish members of St. Theresa the Little Flower want to support your family in all stages of your life. As the Director of Faith Formation my job is to support you the parents in the faith education of your child. You are the primary faith educators of your child. The Catechists and I are here to walk beside your family and help you grow in the knowledge and love of Christ.

This year we will offer faith formation for k4-6th grade on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:30am. We are going to call our Sunday morning program SAINTS in Training. Each class will have a patron saint and we will learn about the saints and celebrate their feast days.

We will have a Saint Parade on October 31 in honor of All Saint's Day. Your children can dress up as thier favorite saint and we will of course have each of our class saints represented.

Second grade is for First Communion preparation. You will need to submit a copy of your child's baptism certificate, and your child has to have attended faith formation the year prior to being enrolled in the First Communion class

Ninth grade is Confirmation. We will meet from 5-7pm Sunday evenings. Attendance is mandatory, participation in our youth group is mandatory, and weekly Mass attendance is mandatory. There will also be service hours, a retreat, and a presentation on their Confirmation saint required. We will be using Chosen by Ascension Press this year. Each student will be given a workbook and a Bible which they will be required to bring to each class. They will need to complete some work at home.  Our hope is that by the time they are confirmed in the spring they will have grown in their knowledge and love of Christ and realized that their relationship with Christ is an ongoing process.
